Review
The theme of Schwinn’s Wayfarer Bicycle is simplicity. This bike is a solid and reliable commuter which can be used for off-road use as well. The ride quality offered is very smooth. The bike has a steel frame and fork and that makes it little heavy for one’s liking. However, handling the bike is quite easy and straight forward. A unique thing about this bike is its fenders which do a good job in keeping the water away from the rider. The bike is also equipped with a rear carrier. The retro-theme of the bike is a treat for your eyes and the looks of this bike definitely works to its advantage.
The bike does not ship assembled and assembling this bike can be a challenging task if you have not done anything like this before. It is recommended to take help of a professional bike mechanic. Be sure to take it to your local bike shop and they can set it up for you.
The gears of this bike, however, could have been a lot better. They are not as smooth as expected and tend to make a lot of noise. The gears also do not switch correctly. You might want to tune the derailleur to ensure smooth functioning. The brakes are alright and can stop the bike quickly.
Overall, the bike is a reliable commuter which can be used in the city or off-road and considering its price tag, this bike is quite a bargain.
