Review
Dawes Lightning DT is an entry level road bike which can be used for commuting, exercising or just for the fun of riding. The bike comes with a Dawes custom made frame which makes the bike quite light and easy to handle. The Shimano shifters do a good job and allows for smooth and efficient shifting. The Alex rims provide durability and the dual pivot forged road brakes function quite well and offers precision braking with control and stability.
Like most of the bikes in this category, some of the components are really cheap and low end e.g. the saddle and the pedals. Assembling the bike is straight forward if you have done something like this before. In case you face any difficulty, take it to your local bike shop.
Overall, the bike succeeds as an entry level bike and delivers on its promises. This bike is ideal for those who are looking to get started with biking. It also performs well as a city commuter and the price of the bike is reasonable.
